Deciding what success looks like
Hours or headcount? Indigenous overall, or by Nation? Certified suppliers only, or self-declared too? Small definition choices change every number.
For municipalities, funders and public agencies
You want public projects to create jobs, training and contracts for the people and communities around them. The hard part is deciding what to measure, and then getting every contractor to report it the same way. Pick the outcomes you care about, choose from the data points Nisto already collects, and watch a standardized report build in front of you.

Contractors already have payroll and accounting data. Asking them to retype it into spreadsheets is slow, inconsistent and hard to check.
When each contractor reports its own way, you can’t roll results up or see who is meeting targets. One standard report fixes that.
Start with what you want to change, such as growing Indigenous participation or keeping benefits local. We suggest the measures that show it.
Browse the full menu. Each item shows what it measures, where the data comes from and which input fields it needs.
A standardized sample report builds as you choose, with roll-ups against targets and a breakout for every participating contractor.
Email your selections to Nisto and we’ll set up a call. We build your report as a template on the platform, and your contractors report into it.
Supply chain reporting
Public projects run through layers of contractors and suppliers. The general contractor and every subcontractor below it upload the same payroll file and the same procurement file, and their workers answer the same People survey. When a vendor connects to its customer on Nisto, its uploads link to theirs, so the platform knows where every business sits in the chain and rolls it all up into the report you design below.
One report, every tier Example data

The same numbering carries through procurement, employment and contributions. Build yours
Everything shown is example data. Nothing you choose is sent anywhere; it stays in this browser tab until you choose to email it to our team.
Choose as many as you like. Each one switches on the measures that show it, and you can fine-tune them in the next step.
Each item lists its data source and the input fields it needs. Existing fields are already collected by Nisto. Proposed fields would be added for your template.
These definitions are set once per project and apply to every contractor.
We’ll review what you picked and set up a call to walk through your definitions, targets and what your contractors would send. This opens an email in your own mail app; nothing is sent until you press send there.
Nisto is an accounting solution. It computes results from records contractors already keep, so the report reflects what was actually paid and worked.
The menu draws on statements Nisto and Pehta produce today and on the frameworks public owners are adopting:
No. They upload the payroll and accounting exports they already produce, or connect their system. Workers who choose to take part answer a short survey on their phone.
Yes. Local area, equity-deserving groups, the small-group threshold for worker identity results and every target are project settings. The sample report shows placeholder targets until you set yours.
It is how employment results are counted: by headcount (number of workers), by wages paid, or by employment hours. You can choose one, two or all three. Each employment result and target is then shown once for each basis you choose. The choice is at the top of the Employment category and in Settings.
Every participating contractor, at any tier, uploads the same payroll and procurement files, and its workers answer the same survey. When a vendor connects to its customer on Nisto, the platform links their data, numbers the chain (1, 1.1, 1.1.1) and rolls it up. Your report can cover the whole project from the general contractor down, and any contractor can produce the same statement for itself and everything below it.
Yes, for employment, procurement and contributions. Employment by Nation follows the small-group protections for worker identity results; procurement and contributions by Nation are reported in full.
Your mail app opens with a summary of your outcomes, measures and settings, addressed to the Nisto team. Nothing is sent until you press send. We reply to set up a call and then build your report as a template on the platform.
Yes. In Settings, choose your logo and, if you like, an accent colour for headings and table headers. Your logo stays in your browser and is never uploaded. Use “Open full screen” to view the whole report.
No. The sample uses example data to show the layout. Send us your selections and we’ll prepare a version for your projects.
Send us your selections from the builder, or just get in touch. We’ll walk through your definitions and targets and show you what your contractors would need to send.
